What’s your favorite time of day?
Britt’s POV:
The golden moment of my day arrives right after the kids have polished off their breakfast but before the school rush kicks in. It’s a pocket of about 30-40 minutes where tranquility reigns and all the kids are in their happy and rested zones.
This is my cherished interval, a slice of time where I get to witness the older siblings bonding with the baby and amongst themselves. Their conversations buzz with excitement about how the day might unfold. It’s a scene that paints pure joy in my heart, like a canvas of happiness.
In this bubble of serenity, we stand on the threshold of the daily whirlwind – the school commute, the household chores, the routine shuffle. It’s the calm before the symphony of chaos begins, a temporary pause in the grand play of our lives. And in this tranquil tableau, there’s just one missing piece – my hubby, already at work while this precious harmony unfolds.
These moments are my treasures, a space to luxuriate in positivity and simply unwind before we dive into the ebb and flow of the day. I’m fully aware that these days are fleeting, a limited edition of youthful bliss. And I’m here, soaking it all up like sunshine after a rain shower.
Aaron’s POV
The sweet spot of my day usually falls between 5:30 and 7:30 PM. It’s that magical window when the whole family gathers around for dinner, sharing stories from the day, followed by the delightful chaos as the kids unleash their energy before bedtime. The air is filled with tales of school escapades and home adventures, little snippets of their lives that warm my heart and remind me why being a parent is such a meaningful journey. Listening to our children articulate their experiences is like a soothing melody that resonates deep within. Furthermore, connecting with Britt and trading stories about the kids simply brings a smile to my face.
Observing the dynamics between our little ones and with us is simply heartwarming. These moments are my treasure trove of memories – whether it’s engaging in activities, playing games, or simply basking in the little joys. These two hours on most weekdays are a pause where I get to savor the vibrant energy that children infuse into our lives. They serve as a sanctuary in time where I try to be fully present, relishing the boundless enthusiasm that children bring into our lives.
As the clock ticks past these hours, the kids start winding down or engage in the battle against sleep – a gentle nudge to appreciate the fleeting nature of each moment we have with them. It’s a reminder to treasure every single moment we have with them and to hold tight to the precious connections we’re creating as a family, embracing the magic of every shared memory we make.
