The Great Costume Dilemma

Ah, it’s that magical time of the year when the leaves start their fashion makeover, pumpkins become the latest neighborhood accessory, and those ghoulish inflatables stage a full-blown invasion of our yards. Fall, my friends! It’s like Mother Nature’s way of saying, “Let’s make the world look like a pumpkin spice latte.”

We’re absolutely smitten with this season. The trees decide to swap out their traditional green for a more vibrant wardrobe, the morning breeze is like a cool, refreshing wake-up call, and let’s not forget the Halloween decorations. It’s the time of year when the kids look forward to the not-so-scary skeletons reemerging from the closet.

Last Halloween, we took the kiddos on a magical adventure to Disney and Universal. It was like trick-or-treating on steroids, and the kids are still buzzing about it. But this year, we’re doing things the old-fashioned way. You know, house decorating, neighborhood trick-or-treating, whipping up spooky-themed foods, and getting our costume game on point.

Now, about these costumes… our daughter, a decisive planner, chooses her’s a year in advance. Our oldest son? Well, he’s as indecisive as a squirrel at a nut buffet, until that costume is in his hot little hands. But this year, we’ve got a real head-scratcher for the youngest. Should he go as a gnome with a beard that could rival Dumbledore’s, or as an Ewok (basically a Star Wars teddy bear)? The kids have spoken, and their all aboard the Star Wars train. Maybe they’re secretly trying to recreate Batuu (that’s Star Wars at Disney), or maybe it’s just another excuse for lightsaber duels until bedtime.

Britt, our baby-fashion guru, is leaning towards the bearded gnome look. Because let’s be honest, babies with beards are just too adorable and hilarious to resist. He might even end up looking like Happy from Snow White, because this little guy is definitely not Sleepy.

Here’s the million-dollar question: should we let the kids theme out the entire family in Star Wars glory, or should we go all-in on the baby beard extravaganza? Decisions, decisions! It’s like choosing between Chewbacca (a Wookie not an Ewok) and a giggling gnome. May the Force be with us in making this epic choice!
