Imagine transforming your front porch into a beacon of Halloween spirit with a unique touch—a light-up pumpkin totem pole! This whimsical decoration stacks illuminated pumpkins on top of each other, creating a festive and eye-catching display. Not only does it add a playful charm to your home, but it also welcomes trick-or-treaters with a warm and spooky glow. Elevate your Halloween decor and set the scene for a night of festive fun with this creative idea.

Materials & Tools

4-7 Plastic Pumpkin/Jack-O-Lantern Trick-or-Treat Buckets (can be multiple colors depending on your taste)
9-18′ of White LED Strand lighting
Hot Glue & Hot Glue Gun
Drill with 1″ Bit (Spade, Forstner, or Hole Saw)
1-2 Empty Water Bottle
1 Small Bag of White spider web material

Directions

  1. Embrace the challenge of choosing the Pumpkin Olympics stacking order—gold, silver, or bronze?
  2. Get out your trusty 1″ hole-making drill and turn those pumpkins into VIP light holders, except for the one with a promotion to base status.
  3. Give your base pumpkin a “back door” with a 1″ hole for the light cord—because even pumpkins need a secret entrance.
  4. Tap into the bottled water market for your pumpkin decor, filling them 2/3 full for the heavy-duty base duty. Hydration is key, even for pumpkins.
  5. Play light surgeon as you weave those strands through pumpkin holes, ensuring the power plug makes a grand entrance at the back—pumpkins deserve a red carpet moment too.
  6. Fill your bottom pumpkin(s) with the water bottles. It’s like a pumpkin spa day but with less cucumber slices.
  7. Channel your inner pumpkin Picasso and glue those seams together, starting from the bottom. Forget the catwalk, it’s a pumpkinwalk!
  8. Stand back, Michelangelo! Now that your tower is glued and proud, stuff that top pumpkin like a Thanksgiving turkey with white spider web material—it’s the pumpkin couture.
  9. Drumroll, please! Plug it in, and voila! Witness the birth of your pumpkin totem—where pumpkins meet Hollywood glamour. The red carpet is optional, but highly encouraged.
