Pumpkin Ploding Palooza

What do you usually do with those once-lively, now drooping jack-o’-lanterns? Most folks toss them out for wildlife to nibble on, but this time around, we decided to add a bit more excitement to the farewell party.

We got an invitation to what our kids enthusiastically dubbed “plode pumpkins.” Yes, you read it correctly—we filled pumpkins with tannerite and sent them sky-high with a bang. The pumpkin confetti soared, and the kids, eager to make their mark, took their shots with .22s. Despite their attempts, the tannerite remained intact, but the thrill of shooting had its own charm.

Realizing that .22s weren’t up to the explosive task, we opted for an AR and took aim once again. The result? Laughter filled the air as pumpkin remnants rained down around us, making for a smashing pumpkin spectacle and an unforgettable twist on the usual disposal routine.

Oh, and on a side note, we tried to inject a bit of color into the explosion by tossing in some Holi powder with the tannerite. Unfortunately, all we got was pumpkin goo with a vibrant hue—no picturesque puff of smoke in sight.
