Oops, I Did It Again: Making Culinary Resolutions

Thanksgiving rolled around, and once again, I found myself whipping up a feast fit for a small army, despite my attempts at restraint. My enthusiasm, however, may have tipped the scales, especially in the casserole department. Green bean casserole, corn casserole, sweet potato casserole (which, in my book, qualifies as a dessert), turkey, brussels sprouts, and the obligatory pumpkin pie—it was a casserole carnival!

With leftovers that could last us through Thanksgiving Week, I’m making a declaration here and now to avoid a repeat performance. Next year’s menu: turkey, rolls, salad, and dessert. Keep it simple, right?

In the midst of the Black Friday excitement, I’m savoring a different kind of richness—the contentment that comes from appreciating what we already have. While others may be rushing for the latest deals, I find solace in enjoying the abundance of leftovers, each bite a reminder of the Thanksgiving moments shared with loved ones. There’s a unique joy in finding fulfillment in the simple pleasures of home, surrounded by the warmth of familiar flavors and the gratitude for the treasures we already possess. In this season of gratitude, it’s not just about acquiring more; it’s about relishing and being thankful for the abundance that’s already present in our lives.

Wishing you all a fantastic day reveling in another trip around the sun! As for us, we’ll be savoring the leftovers until further notice. 😜🦃🍂
