Baby’s First Latte

It’s no secret that Aaron and I share a love for coffee, and occasionally, our kiddos sneak in a sip or two. Lately, our youngest has developed a keen interest in that black elixir that mama and daddy carry around in those fancy cups.

Following in the footsteps of our older two, it starts innocently enough—a reach for the mug, then a grab with an unsteady grip. Before you know it, there’s a foam mustache decorating their face from plunging headfirst into the enchanting drink.

Our daughter used to enjoy “coffee,” which was essentially steamed milk foam, at a tender age, and I can vividly recall our eldest son taking tiny sips of espresso before he could even walk. So, it’s not entirely surprising that this baby is also curious. However, being a hands-on little guy, his attempt at a sip turned into bubble-blowing and the most epic foam mustache.

While we don’t often let our young ones partake in coffee, the occasional taste is allowed. I must admit, this initial encounter has been the most comical yet! Who knows what other mischievous exploits our little guy will embark on? The rollercoaster of parenthood may be tiring, but these moments are absolutely worth it!
