Cinematic Confessions: Holiday Movie Edition

Confession time: I’m not exactly a blockbuster buff. Sure, I’ll endure the superhero sagas, princess tales, and even the occasional Star Wars marathon because, you know, family democracy. Personally, I’d rather cozy up with a documentary or an adventure show any day—call me a rebel.

Now, here’s the holiday plot twist: Christmas flicks suddenly become my kryptonite. There’s this inexplicable, almost gravitational pull to revisit the classics. “A Year Without a Santa Claus,” “Nester the Christmas Donkey,” “The First Christmas Snow”—basically, if it’s a Rankin Bass stop-motion spectacle, consider me glued to the screen.

I’ll brave the Grinch, get cozy with the Muppet version of “A Christmas Carol,” and hop aboard the Polar Express. But, and brace yourself for this cinematic scandal, some of the alleged “best” Christmas movies? Total pass. “Christmas Vacation”? Nope, not my cup of cocoa. “A Christmas Story”? Confession time—I haven’t even seen it! There’s just something about the humor that misses the mark for me.

How about you? Are you riding the stop-motion sleigh or sipping from the moose mug of Christmas cheer? Spill the cinematic beans and let us know which holiday specials make it to your family’s must-watch list!
