Do you ever find yourself in a deep philosophical debate with your phone, questioning its existence as you head to the bathroom? Ah, the good old days when our only concern was whether the toilet paper rolled over or under.
So, as I embark on the journey of the new year, I’ve realized I need to work on my phone-detox resolution. I’ve come to terms with the fact that my phone is like a needy friend—I can’t resist its constant attention-seeking behavior. Whether I’m looking something up, reading a book, playing a game, or using it as my personal paparazzi, my phone is my ever-present companion.
But it’s time to break free from this digital ball and chain! Instead of reaching for my phone, I’m going to reach for a Lego set or a board game with my family. Who knew those dusty old board games in the closet could be more entertaining than the infinite scrolling on my screen?
I’ve even considered establishing a “phone zone” at home. You know, a designated area where the phone can contemplate its life choices while we enjoy quality time without its interference. Of course, we’ll keep it handy for emergencies—because, let’s be real, who uses landlines anymore?
