Britt’s POV
December in North Dakota is questionable. I’ve been here for 7 years and I’ve experienced what I would call normal winters and I’ve experienced wildlife frozen to the side of the road, can’t be out for more than .01 seconds or you’ll be the same winters. So when we were asked if we wanted to go to Hawaii to celebrate my in-laws anniversary in 2024, I was ecstatic! Who cares if most of our extended family would be coming with us, it’s Hawaii and probably at least 100 degrees warmer than here! Just a small, adorable little issue. Our baby ( who doesn’t like car seats as of now) will be under 2 and I think one flight is 8 hours 😬. Tips on keeping 2 kiddos and a toddler busy will be appreciated! Also coffee☕️.
Aaron’s POV
Although it is quite cold in December, I would argue that January or February are much colder. Having grown up in North Dakota, I am much more accustomed to the indecisive mood swings of Mother Nature in the Dakotas, but I can definitely attest to the wicked cold temps we experience. Yes, that’s me with ice in my beard and mustache after snow blowing the driveway for what felt like ages, and yes I was questioning why people live in the frozen tundra. Just like Britt, I am excited about the opportunity to travel to Hawaii. I have fond memories of being there as a teenager, and I’m looking forward to creating new ones with our family. Being able to share these experiences with them makes the anticipation even greater.
